Stack Simulator
One of the largest buildings in the world,
the Vehicle Assembly Building (VAB), is the heart of Launch
Complex 39 at Kennedy Space Center. The External Tank, two
Solid Rocket Boosters and the Orbiter are mated for launch in
the VAB. The space shuttle vehicle is supported and restrained
on the Mobile Launch Platform during assembly, transit, and pad
checkout.
Guests can virtually stack and mate components of
the Space Shuttle in a Vehicle Assembly Building bay and ready
the world’s space “workhorse” for its next exciting mission.
Graphic panels explain VAB function and depict personnel
stacking and mating Space Shuttle components.
