Mercury Capsule

Mercury capsule
Climb inside a mock-up of the spacecraft/capsule that Mercury astronauts tested the possibility of man living in space and orbiting the Earth.  Ride along with America's first Astronaut ,Alan Shephard, as he blasts off from Earth in the Mercury Freedom capsule atop of a Mercury-Redstone rocket; reaches the edge of space; and splashes down in the Atlantic Ocean.

Apollo Capsule

Apollo Capsule
Climb aboard and sit in one of the  three seats of a mock-up of an Apollo capsule exterior and interior.  Get the feel for the space and duties of an Apollo astronaut as it heads for the Moon.

Rover

Planetary rover
“We have a GO for exploration!" as guests take on the role of a remote scientist and discover robotics like those that have explored the Moon and Mars.   The goal: to guide a robotic rover on an exploration mission. Guests call upon their best hand-eye coordination and navigation skills as they take control of a 2/3rds scale Soujourner or Spirit-type rover and explore a quadrant of a moon or planetary surface.  Guests can either move the rover freely or follow a pre-set pattern of exploration in this 3-5 minute experience. The terrain explored can be themed for either the Moon, Mars or other planets. A texturized surface creates a challenging rover testing area.  Photorealistic or painted imagery surround the rover to create an immersive experience.

Glovebox

Glovebox - Rack
“Science Team, this is Payloads Operations Control Center…you have a GO for experiment activiation.” Imagine conducting experiments in equipment just like the astronauts use in space. The goal: to use a International Space Station Microgravity Glovebox facility to manipulate a variety of experiments. One guest at a time can place their hands inside the gloves of the glovebox to work with one of several types of experiments available. Magnetic levitation, bernoulli and particle dispersion are just a few of the available experiments that can be placed in the glovebox for a fun and learning experience.

Glovebox - Portable
